Retirement-card and Christmas-cards

My former boss Margaretha retired last Friday. Of course I had to make her a card! She is a non-fuss woman who is always dressed in black, so this is what I came up with. It was really fun to give it to her because she was so very emotional. She hugged me and stroke my cheek - so not her usual self!

These 2 Christmas-cards above is what I made recently. I guess it's about time to send the Christmas-cards out soon! Especially those that will go overseas!

Birthdays

A couple of weeks ago both my darling and his mom had their birthdays (at the same day). Of course I had to make them birthday-cards! The top one is for my sweetheart - "Puss" is Swedish for "Kiss" - and the other one is for my Mother In  Law. She loves cats, so of course I had to make a cat-card for her!

Halloween cat and Christmas-card

Halloween is coming up! I have participated in a group-swap in EuropeArtDecos @ Yahoo - a deco with the theme "Halloween cats". Isn't the kitty I chose cute - and scary?!

I am continuing producing Christmas-cards. I will sell some at work and also need some for myself. This one is in untraditional colours - I was thinking of the pink symbolizing the Pink month of breast-cancer awareness when I made it. And I also made it for the challenge at Althea's Mix, which was to create a Christmas-card of your own choice.

Vintage ballerina and won the challenge at Skapa Hobby!

New deco: Vintage ballerina - isn't she pretty?! I used black cardstock from Bazill as the base, then a pink paper with black print (some of the images are embossed). I am sorry, but I don't know the brand of the paper. I stamped a swirl from Panduro in the left corner and embossed it with a hologram-powder. Turned out pretty nice!

I am also extremely happy to tell you that I actually WON the challenge at Skapa Hobby for which I made the card in the previous post! I am waiting to receive the prize and can't wait to find out what it is! :)

Challenge at Skapa Hobby!

Another Christmas-card! This one I made for a challenge at Skapa Hobby. I was inspired by the lay-out, the repeated elements (in their card butterflies, in my card hearts), the text on the background and the torn edges. The card ended up not too Christmassy, but if you're Swedish you can read the Christmassy words in the background! :)

Cards and prices

My goodness, a whole month since I last posted here! Time flies!

I have got an order for 8 Christmas-cards, so I'm working on them. One of them is the one above. People at work tend to like my cards, so I decided to up the price. For two reasons: if they are a little more expensive, people might not order so many, and that would give me more time for my own cards. And also, cardmaking IS artwork and it should be treated like that. And people should pay for it. It's so easy to say that I do it just for fun and it's fun that people like it as well. And it IS! But it's also much work involved, and the papers, embellishments and ribbons are not inexpensive either!

Christmas in August

I made a Christmas-card! Yes, we still have long ways to go until Christmas, but you can never start making them too early! This one I made for a challenge at Altheas Mix. This week the "theme" was free (well, it should be Christmassy)... I came up with this, a pretty simple card, but I think it's cute! What you cannot tell from the photo is that I did put some stickles on the frogs' hats, on the white "fluff", just to add the extra bling I thought the card needed...

Accident

So much have happened recently. My mom and her husband Örjan was involved in a traffic-accident 3 weeks ago, and it was really scary. They got hit from behind on the motorway - the young man that hit them was probably speeding like **** and hdid not pay enough attention to the traffic in front of him. Mom and Örjan both ended up in hospital. Mom was released the same night, Örjan was kept at the hospital for observation but they sent him home the day after. Still, he didn't get any better, only worse, so after a couple of days mom called the ambulance again and they came and got him (at 3 AM). They gave him another X-ray and it showed he had a broken rib that had punctured one of his lungs. Then they emptied the lung of 7 deciliters of blood... One wonders how on earth they could have missed that on the previous hospital!? Those were very nervous days, but now he's fine after the circumstances. Well, you can tell by the photo of the car how bad the crash was! I am soooo glad to still have my mom alive!

Oh well, I won't talk only of accidents and car-crashes - here's a card that was ordered by a colleague of mine. It's a birthday-card and it turned out pretty good, I think!

Springcard for a challenge

Oh well, it might be a little late to show a springcard... Nevertheless, here is one I made recently, for a challenge. It should be something spring-related, a stamped image and a ribbon. So, here it is, folks! In reality, summer is here and has been here for a while already. Today it's rainy and dull, though. Hoping for it to clear up tomorrow!

Photo-problems...

Oh Gee, I really have been absent for a very long time! So sorry about that! I thought I would be able to add a photo of all the 40 wedding-invitations I made for a friend - I gave them to her a couple of weeks ago and she was actually very pleased with them. That was a lot of fun, but soooo time-consuming! Even though I enjoyed it, I don't think I will ever take upon a task like that again! However, I did take a photograph of them all together - with my mobile-phone - but somehow I cannot transfer the picture from the phone into the computer! Very frustrating! Oh well, I'll post it if I ever find out how to do it!

Meanwhile, I'll show you this piece above! It's a bookmark I made for a friend in a group-swap. I was very happy with how it turned out, maybe I will make a similar one to myself! :)

Busy!

Spring is here! It's soooo good to be able to go outside and the air is warm and nice. And no snow left!

This deco is themed "Silly Cats" and I found this picture and found it so adorable and funny. Cats really are so special and unique, noone is like the other. I am a huge cat-lover, can you tell?

I have been very busy this last month - both with work and the commuting (I work full-time and commute 45 minutes each direction), but I have also some orders of cards that will have to be ready by the end of April. 40 of them are wedding-invitations that a friend asked me to make for her. I have made 26, "only" 14 to go! And also, a co-worker asked me to make her 4 birthday-cards. She will retire by the end of the month, so I'll try to have them ready for her next week. And of course I will have to make her a "goodbye"-card as well!

I will try to remember to get pictures of it all, and upload here!

Longing for spring!

A friend and co-worker turns 40 today and I made her this card. Very appropriate with the cats since she is a big cat-lover just like me! :)

What else? Not much has happened lately, just quite busy at work. Spring is around the corner now, I can smell it, but it is not quite here yet. Yesterday we had pretty bad weather with lots and lots of snow coming down, that needed to be shoveled later at the evening. Not very amusing, if you ask me. I really long for spring now!

Vintage Children and spring

This is a deco I made for a group-swap, and the theme was "Vintage Children". I found this beautiful picture of a young boy dressed in a sailor's suit and I thought he looked so sweet! I am really happy with the way the deco turned out!

Now we have the month of March, and even here in Sweden we can sense that spring is arriving! Today the weather is beautiful and sunny, and the snow is slowly melting away. I cannot wait for it to be totally gone, I'm not a fan of snow or winter...

Yesterday I had really big problems with my neck - it was so stiff and hurt a lot. Lucky me, I have a chiropractor in the family - he's married to my mom - so I could just give him a call and them go over there to get some treatment. Today feels soooo much better! :)

A very special card

A little while ago, a colleague and friend asked for a very special card. Her best friend had just passed away from cancer and she wanted a card to lie together with her flowers by the coffin at the funeral. A very special request and soooo delicate! It really had to be just right and I really had performance anxiety about this, but it turned out pretty good, I think! My friend had requested the card to be pink and she also had chosen the picture with the angels.

A new Christmas-card

I made yet another Christmas-card. It's good to make them this early - no stress! :)

Scrapbooking

Last weekend, I visited my sister in Oslo, Norway. She had turned 40 and I had created a little scrap-book album with 16 pages for her, with pictures from our child-hood. It was a lot of work but she really appreciated it, so it was well worth while!

Down below are some of the layouts I gave her...

"Klellell" is what I used to call her when we were kids. I am only 15 months older, so I wasn't able to pronounce her name "Christina" very well...

Her and me both at our grandparent's house

The house where we grew up - well, at least until I was 13!

Celebrating Lucia...

Christina's birthday, she got a new bicycle and of course we had to get out in our nighties to try it!

My goodness, we were soooo happy with our new hair-do's! (I'm the one to the left)

Last day in school before the summer-break and we were all dressed up! Fancy shoes as well, eh?

Christmas-card!

Do you think I've probably lost it? Haha! No, I've taken upon a challenge here to make 1 Christmas-card per week the whole year, and this is the first one! It will be nice in December, when I will have 50 Christmas-cards ready! I will even be able to take part in a fair and sell some!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYBODY! I hope that 2011 will be a great year with lots of new, good experiences and lots and lots of time to craft!!

This is a card I made for a colleague and friend - J - who moved to Cyprus since her husband got a job there. A big change for her, but I am sure it will be great! And such a difference from this cold north! I cannot help but envy her...

However, J loves the vintage look and also blue, so this card I made was spot on! And I am really happy with it as well... :)
