Vintage Halloween

A little late for Halloween, but here's a Vintage Halloween deco that I made for a group-swap today. :)

Still alive!

Hey you all - if I have any readers left, that is... I haven't stopped crafting, just hadn't had the energy to blog. I've changed jobs and I really like the new job a lot, but it has also taken a lot of energy.

So, here is some of the decos I have made since April! A lot of vintage, guess you can tell it's my favourite theme, right?!

Vintage ballerina
Vintage bathing beauty
Vintage pinups

Trolls & Goblins

And you know what? I still have another week of vacation - I'm actually hoping for a little bad weather so I get to craft without feeling guilty! ;) Because if the weather is fine, you should really be outside and enjoy it and summer, right?!

Cutest cat!

Isn't this cat the cutest? As you might already know, I am a HUGE fan of cats. They are independent and have oh so much personality! I just love them, and especially my own Sixten, a male Norwegian Forest cat! He's not the one in the picture, though...

Anyway, this is a deco by the theme "Animals in winter" that I made for a group-swap.

Vintage ballerina and won the challenge at Skapa Hobby!

New deco: Vintage ballerina - isn't she pretty?! I used black cardstock from Bazill as the base, then a pink paper with black print (some of the images are embossed). I am sorry, but I don't know the brand of the paper. I stamped a swirl from Panduro in the left corner and embossed it with a hologram-powder. Turned out pretty nice!

I am also extremely happy to tell you that I actually WON the challenge at Skapa Hobby for which I made the card in the previous post! I am waiting to receive the prize and can't wait to find out what it is! :)

Busy!

Spring is here! It's soooo good to be able to go outside and the air is warm and nice. And no snow left!

This deco is themed "Silly Cats" and I found this picture and found it so adorable and funny. Cats really are so special and unique, noone is like the other. I am a huge cat-lover, can you tell?

I have been very busy this last month - both with work and the commuting (I work full-time and commute 45 minutes each direction), but I have also some orders of cards that will have to be ready by the end of April. 40 of them are wedding-invitations that a friend asked me to make for her. I have made 26, "only" 14 to go! And also, a co-worker asked me to make her 4 birthday-cards. She will retire by the end of the month, so I'll try to have them ready for her next week. And of course I will have to make her a "goodbye"-card as well!

I will try to remember to get pictures of it all, and upload here!

Vintage Children and spring

This is a deco I made for a group-swap, and the theme was "Vintage Children". I found this beautiful picture of a young boy dressed in a sailor's suit and I thought he looked so sweet! I am really happy with the way the deco turned out!

Now we have the month of March, and even here in Sweden we can sense that spring is arriving! Today the weather is beautiful and sunny, and the snow is slowly melting away. I cannot wait for it to be totally gone, I'm not a fan of snow or winter...

Yesterday I had really big problems with my neck - it was so stiff and hurt a lot. Lucky me, I have a chiropractor in the family - he's married to my mom - so I could just give him a call and them go over there to get some treatment. Today feels soooo much better! :)

Sorry!

Please forgive me my absence! Things have been very hectic at work and I'm kind of beat when I get home in the evenings. Now things are lightning up and I hope to be able to be more present soon, and to have more energy to do more crafting!

However, this is one of my newest decos, the theme is "First kiss", isn't the picture sweet?

Frogs

Aren't this pic of the frogs CUTE?! And funny?! I just can't stop smiling when I see it... I just had to use it for a "Frog" deco that I made not long ago.

I haven't been crafting much lately, I'm sorry to say. I would want to, but have been working pretty much and also have had other things to attend to... Hopefully things will lighten up soon!

Sweden!

This is a deco with "Sweden"-theme. It's really summery and really Swedish. And I like it a lot! Summer is now approaching, and I cannot wait for the weather to improve! These past few days have been really rainy, but tomorrow it's supposed to be good. I hope so! :)

My birthyear

This time I wanted to show you a pic of a deco with the theme "My birthyear". And since I was born 1969 - of course I had to make it with a pic of the very first moon-landing! I was pretty happy with the way it turned out, even though it didn't match the image I had in my mind before I started! But well, that is often the case I think, when you're crafting! The items get a life of their own... ;)

Long time no see...

My gosh, I've been really absent lately! I'm sorry everybody, to have kept you waiting for this update! That is, if there still is anybody reading my blog...

I have been really busy these past few months and the winter has been long, dark, snowy (lots and lots and lots of snow this year) and hard. And I have been pretty much out of energy and not really had the desire to be creative. Well, spring is here soon, even though the temperature is still below 0 (freezing temperature).

The deco is themed "Famous Lovestories" and I chose Tristan and Isolde for the cover. I kind of like the way it turned out!

Cowboy

This is a Cowboy-deco I made for a group-swap. I kept feeling that something was missing on it,
that is was too bare... But eventually it had to do anyway, I couldn't really put flowers or other girlie stuff there, could I?! And really, I am pretty happy with it nevertheless!

Oh yes! I have a car!

decFirst of all: I have a car now! I even got it delivered by Monday night, very nice! It's a small red Ford Fiesta, from 1996. Not fancy at all - it hasn't got Central locking, electric window elevators, AC or anything - but then again - there aren't as many things to break down either! I am very happy with my little car!

The deco above is a "Laurel & Hardy" deco and I am quite pleased with how it turned out. The "mat" I used for the picture is much, much more sparkly IRL, it gives it a nice touch!

Health

This piece above is an "Africa" deco. I thought it was fun to make it green, most decos with this theme are brown or beige. But I know there are some places in Africa that are green as well, so... here it is! The picture is from the internet, I googled "African beauty" and there she was! And she is really beautiful, don't you think?

I know I have been quiet for a while. The reason is that I haven't been feeling too well. A little more than a month ago, my car broke down and without it, it takes soooo much longer to get to work, because I have to rely completely on public transportations. And considering I was sick for 5 years and have been back to work now only 2 months... Well, it's taken a huge toll on my health, I can tell. Last Thursday evening, I came down with a huge anxiety-attack and couldn't do anything but lie flat on my back until Friday at noon. I tell ya, it was NO FUN calling work and tell them that I couldn't get out of bed because I had an anxiety-attack!

Well, now we are car-hunting and hopefully I will have a "new" car by Tuesday night, and then life will be much easier. I'll let you know!

Vintage girl

This deco, called "Vintage girl" is made for a groupswap in a friend's group, and they chose it for the front-page this month! I am so honoured and happy about that! I am pretty happy with how it turned out as well!

Tomorrow I will go to Norway and visit my dear friend Marthe, it will be a blast! We will be crafting around the clock until Sunday, when I have to leave again. I am so lucky to have my man Mats, who will give me a lift up there. I had planned to drive my own car, but it broke down last week and we will either have to repair it, or sell it and buy a new one. And it will cost a small fortune either way. And we can by no means get it fixed 'til tomorrow, so Mats with his big heart offered to take me there... Did I tell you that I love him oh so much?

Rubberstamped Flowers

This deco above is a very simple one - it's called "Rubberstamped Flowers", that I made for my Swedish deco/ATC group, SvenskaDecos. I just didn't know what else to make with it, since the rubberstamp itself is pretty large. I coloured it in with Promarkers. punched a couple of holes and tied a ribbon over the stems and - voilà! I am pretty happy with it anyway, sometimes less is more...

Today I am home from work, still sick from that stomach-flu that hit me during the weekend, but at least today I am feeling much better. I think I will be able to go to work tomorrow without being contageous as well! I think the worst thing about having this sickness is that you get so darn weak! It really is annoying! But, like I said - I am feeling way better now!

So much to do... so little time!

Now that I've started working, I find that I have so much less time for crafting and all other stuff! Not a big surprise, but I still miss it! So, I haven't got much to show you. This deco above is a "Vintage Moviestars From My Country"-deco. I chose Ingrid Bergman, she had such classic beauty, and who hasn't seen "Casablanca"? I made the deco for a group-swap and sent it to Germany...

Today I received an award from my dear friend Sussi! Thanks soooo much, my dear! Now I am supposed to choose 10 of my own favourite blogs, but really - I have a hard time choosing! There are so many of you out there, so I hope to be forgiven if I don't pick out any?!

Employment-day 1!

Another ballet-deco! I just love that theme, can you tell?

Today was the first day of REAL work for me - with a real employment! The whole office had an education-day though, so I don't feel like I've done something really. Hopefully I will be able to take some of that knowledge and apply to work. I am really looking forward to be able to work now!

I've got a job!

OMG, almost a whole month since I last updated my blog! I am so sorry, everybody!

I have good news to tell you, though. Some of you know that I have been on sick-leave for 5 years now, due to a burnout-depression. Now I have been work-training since September 2008 and it goes really well. I am an educated Social-worker and it's not the easiest field of work, but I am happy to say it has been great. And now I have been offered a temporary job at the very same office where I have been work-training (which is also my old job). I am sooo happy for that! I am back!! The employment will start April 1st, and until then I will continue work-training 75% of fulltime.

The deco up above is a "Ballet"-deco that I made for a swap, and sent to France!

Some new decos

These are some of my latest decos. I need to make a couple of cards to send today also, so hopefully I will be able to show them here very soon!
This past week I have been literally down and out with the flu... Some days I have been well enough to sit up a little and do some crafting, but mostly I've been staggering between the bed and the sofa, just lying down and feeling bad. Thank Goodness that is all behind me now! I was so nervous that I wouldn't be able to go to Stockholm to visit my friends at Skapa Hobby tomorrow, as planned. Which would have been extra bad, since the train-ticket was already paid for and not possible to change... But I feel much, much better now, so I will be a ble to go! Yuhooo! Stockholm, watch out!
